HANOI, On the occasion of International Immigration Day of 18/12/2015, Vietnam Association of Manpower Supply (VAMAS)in coordination with International Labour Organisation (ILO) organised Workshop on the evaluation of the 3rd year implementation of Code of Conduct (CoC-VN) in manpower supply enterprises and launch implementation plan for 4th year.

The Workshop warmly welcomed the attendance of Mr. Doan Mau Diep, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social affairs; Mr. Max Tunon, regional coordinator of ILO for Triangle project (3 sides action project on protect immigrant worker), representatives from relevant Ministries, Embassys, NGOs, Institutes and representatives from more than 100 enterprises.
With 3 years of implementation, there are 66 manpower enterprises to participate in CoC-VN. These enterprises have gained positive improvement on standardizing its recruitment procedure and policy. By good implementation of CoC-VN, many enterprises received increasing trust from clients who have invested training tools and facilities to help the worker obtaining skill and knowledge prior departure and minimizing risks at work. Many enterprises not only provide good pre-departure courses but also reduce cost of departure for the worker, having good protection of worker in abroad as well as supporting policy for repatriated workers. At the workshop, SONA is evaluated and awarded certificate of 5-star ranking for 3rd year of CoC-VN implementation.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Nam – General Director of SONA has his presentation on experience of SONA in protection of migrant worker in GCCs at the workshop. The presentation was highly appreciated by VAMAS, ILO and representatives from enterprises who will study and apply for manpower enterprises.

Code of Conduct for overseas manpower supply enterprise (CoC-VN) is composed and promulgated by Vietnam Association of Manpower Supply (VAMAS) since 2013 under the co-operation and sponsor of Department of Overseas Labour and International Labour Organization (ILO). CoC-VN is regarded as tool to evaluate professional standard and ethical policy for better quality and credibility of enterprises as well as for better protection of worker’s right.
